With the progressive increase in the incidence of HIV/AIDS, the emergence of new diseases such as opportunistic infections or unusual infections germs, has led to in the literature are reported more frequently report cases of new forms of presentation. In the literature so far has been very few reported cases of pulmonary infection by Salmonella and even less frequent abscess formation, so far have only been reported a number of cases in Chest, the journal, in 1997, which concerned the presence of Salmonella abscess was directly related to immunosuppression by HIV/AIDS. This time it is a young patient with a history of infection of HIV/AIDS with acute respiratory symptoms, lung abscess documenting Salmonella, very good response to antibiotic treatment and resolution of this confirmed by conventional radiology.
