      Una mujer de 24 años se presentó con disnea progresiva hasta el reposo, tos con expectoración blanca escasa, durante el segundo trimestre de embarazo. Con antecedentes de pericarditis, sin historia previa de tabaquismo. 
      Durante su hospitalización fue desembarazada, previa maduración fetal; seguidamente fue sometida a biopsia pulmonar abierta, con diagnóstico de proteinosis alveolar pulmonar (PAP). Finalmente, se sometió a lavado pulmonar total secuencial, con notable mejoría de la disnea. Este caso es otro ejemplo de la seguridad y eficacia del lavado pulmonar total en el manejo de la proteinosis alveolar pulmonar
