Bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR) with endobronchial valves (EBVs) is a therapy for patients diagnosed with advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) characterized by clinical and functional features of hyperinflation leading to persistent symptoms. (1) It is a less invasive pulmonary volume intervention and has shown improvements in lung function, dyspnea, and quality of life with less associated morbidity and mortality compared to surgical reduction (1). Accurate patient selection is key to optimizing benefits and minimizing adverse effects when considering lung volume reduction by bronchoscopy.
