            La obtención de donantes pulmonares válidos continúa siendo un reto en el trasplante pulmonar. En los centros trasplantadores con larga trayectoria, una de las opciones que ha permitido aumentar el número de trasplantes pulmonares por año, ha sido la extensión de los criterios de aceptabilidad para los donantes. En este artículo se hace un repaso minucioso de cada criterio por separado y de la posible influencia en los resultados del trasplante a corto y largo plazo; Igualmente, se revisan los datos actuales de donación y trasplante en España.
